Earlier this week we reported on the discovery that Gameloft was working on a version of Tank Battles that would run on Android powered devices. It turns out that Gameloft was a lot closer to release than we might have guessed as Tank Battles is now available in the Google Play store. Tank Battles has been available on console and computer platforms and this version follows in that tradition, porting it over to mobile devices.
Tank Battles is free, though it does include advertising in game as well as in-app purchases. The game includes more than 80 single-player levels and 10 multiplayer maps that possess some interactive elements, including destroyable blocks and a variety of moving items like obstacles, doors and conveyer belts. To succeed in the tank battles, you have over 90,000 combinations of cannons, armor, treads, camouflage and other items to deck you tank with as well as a variety of armament like mines, turrets, and bombs.
Check out some screen shots below as well as Gameloft’s launch video. If you want to give Tank Battlesa try, hit one of the download links below.

Rayman Fiesta Run lands on Android in a burst of color and food

As promised, the wacky, if not slightly insane, protagonist is back on Android for more endless running fun. Ubisoft’s Rayman Fiesta Run will have you speeding through a variety of wildly colorful maps, jumping on giant limes, and punching the heck out of piƱatas.

Ubisoft teased its upcoming fall lineup in September that consisted of two humor-filled games, both from the Rayman universe. The antics of the somewhat deranged rabbits arrived first last month in the new title, Rabbids Big Bang. Rayman’s next adventure, however, was promised to still come on November 7 and, indeed, it has sprinted into life today.
Like its predecessor, Rayman Jungle Run, Fiesta Run is a side-scrolling 2D running game that puts the iconic Rayman, whose head, hands and feet are inexplicably kept linked to his body despite the absence of limbs, in a festive world full of giant-sized food and, of course, monsters. Players get to guide Rayman through more than 75 levels and past 3 new epic bosses to reach the Island of the Livid Dead. The game features a certain amount of social networking similar to those found in the popular Candy Crush Saga game, where players can keep track of their friends on the world map and boast of their achievements on Facebook.

Rayman Fiesta Run can be yours on Google Play Store for $2.99 and is available in a variety of languages including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, and more. Also, despite the social networking features, Ubisoft notes that the game doesn’t need a WiFi connection, except, of course, for the initial download.

Gameloft announces two full free games that will come with the Archos GamePad 2 tablet

Usually we end up seeing a Gameloft title appearing on the occasional Android device when a new one hits store shelves. This also is usually a demo version most of the time. However that will be changing with the upcoming GamePad 2 from Archos as Gameloft will have two full free games pre-installed onto the upcomin gaming centric tablet.

There are two gaming focused tablets, soon to be three with Nvidia's on the horizon, trying to get your money. These tablets are the Wikipad and the Gamepad 2 and the major difference between the two tablets, aside from some hardware specs, happens to be the controls. While the Wikipad has removable controls that you can take off when you're not gaming, the GamePad series of tablets have them built right into the tablet itself.

We got to try an early prototype of the GamePad 2 during CES 2013 and while most of the controls worked well, we weren't too happy with the thumb joysticks. However this isn't about the tablet itself or our early impressions of it. What this is about is Gameloft having two full free pre-loaded games that will be arriving with the GamePad 2 tablet. These two games will be Asphalt 8: Airborne and Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, both usually paid games with Asphalt 8: Airborne coming in at $0.99 while Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour weighs in at $6.99.
This announcement of two free games from Gameloft comes right in time with the official announcement for the Archos GamePad 2 tablet which we will be covering in the very next article so stay tuned!
